Based on the latest information from the provincial government information from the provincial government on April 16, 2021, landscaping services, including maintenance and construction, continue to be permitted in Ontario.

There are some exceptions for commercial construction. We recommend that you ask the general contractor to get verification in writing.

Landscaping Services

Landscaping services are listed as a permitted service. This includes turf management, landscape lighting, landscape irrigation, grounds management, landscape construction, interior plantscaping, and landscape design.

Ontario strengthens enforcement of provincewide Stay-at-Home order:

Enhanced public health measures and enforcement comes into effect Saturday, April 17 at 12:01 a.m.

As of April 17, all non-essential workplaces in the construction sector will be closed, with only essential construction permitted to operate. Examples of non-essential sites may include shopping malls, hotels and office towers.

Essential construction:

  • Residential construction activities or projects and related services.

Maintenance:

  • Maintenance, repair and property management services that manage and maintain the safety, security, sanitation and operation of institutional, commercial, industrial and residential properties and buildings are allowed.
